On the Road again with the RVFoodys 2018 Road Tour!

Our winter layover in Fort Myers, Florida is at its end, and once again the Wike’s are on the move!

It’s so hard for us to believe that this is actually our second winter season in Florida,  the start of our third year traveling and the start of our fourth year of living full-time in the RV. Where does the time go!

We are ready to go and are putting the finishing touches to our itinerary.  This trip will take us to November where we will land in Arizona for next winter. While we really like the South Florida weather and have met some truly incredible people while at Gulf Waters RV Resort, it is time to check out a winter in Arizona.

  • Friends!

So where are we heading?  If you remember, last season we left Florida and traveled along the southern tier of the country and then up to the mid west and into the western states. We spent a lot of time in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota and Canada.  This year we are heading up the East coast from Florida and crossing the northern tier of the USA.  A few of these states neither of us have ever visited in our RV or otherwise.  So we are very excited to see what this part of the country has to offer.

After trekking the country via the northern states, it will be on to one of our most anticipated journeys..the West Coast!  While we’ve been to California quite a few times (not with the RV), neither of us have ever experienced Washington or Oregon. “Left” coast here we come!!

In Washington we’ll see Seattle, the San Juan islands, Puget Sound, Olympic peninsula, Mount Ranier, and Mt. St. Helens.  In Oregon we’ll visit Seaside, Coos Bay, Portland, Mt Hood, Corvallis/Eugene, and Crater Lake.  After we cross over into California, it will be on to parts of California we haven’t seen – Mount Shasta, Trinity Lake, Lake Tahoe, and 3 national parks; Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Then a quick run through Nevada into southwest Utah to finally see Zion NP.   Last year we cancelled this visit due to soaring temps which were to reach 115 degrees during our stay.  I like hot, but that’s a bit too hot!  From Zion we’ll be heading to
Albuquerque, New Mexico to finish our 2018 Road Trip at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta before settling in Arizona in the winter.
